Stephenson Gobin (SG Transmission’s parent company) has successfully passed its first standalone Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2015 certification audit.

Following a decision to migrate the group’s company certificate to individual certificates in 2021, Stadium Export Services, BEL Engineering, Stephenson Gobin and BEL Valves joined CMP Products and Tyne Pressure Testing and have passed their first individual audit.

ISO 14001:2015 is an internationally recognised environmental management standard which sets requirements to improve environmental and sustainability performance. The auditor complimented the businesses for the presentation of their sites and provided suggestions for the environmental policy, impacts registers and training.

Following the audit, Andy Walton, Head of Health and Safety and Greg Harrison, Central Health and Safety Trainer at British Engines were accredited by the Institution of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) which means that they can provide sustainability training to employees across the group.

Helen George, Health and Safety and Environment Manager at Stephenson Gobin, said: “The team have done really well when migrating to the standalone certificate and progressing through their first audit. It’s been great for the business to set objectives that are best suited to Stephenson Gobin and taking ownership of these decisions.”

Over the next twelve months the British Engines Group is focusing on sustainability, Co2 savings, energy usage and the carbon footprint.
