Electromagnetic clutch and brake solutions for energy and power generation applications

As the demand for renewable energy continues to grow, so does the requirement for efficient wind power plants. A wind power plant converts the kinetic energy produced from the wind into electrical energy which is then transported into a power grid. The dominant design of a wind turbine includes the three-bladed lift rotor with a horizontal axis and rotor on the windward side. Using pitch control adjustment, a system utilising an electric motor combination, the wind turbine blades are adjusted to ensure that the optimum energy output is achieved while monitoring the maximum speed.

In energy and power generation applications, installation requirement, vibration and reliability are typically core considerations. SG Transmission offers a range of custom and standard; spring applied, permanent magnet and flange mounted brakes and clutches.
