Electromagnetic brake solutions for material handling applications
Industrial trucks are essential in the internal process of manufacturing, transportation and storage of goods. For example, this might typically include the transportation of material or products from offloading bays to storage racks, or from a production to warehouse area. Material handling vehicles can be suited for horizontal or vertical transport (i.e. the storage and retrieval of pallets on the shelves).
Required to manoeuvre high loads for extended periods of time, electrically powered industrial trucks require a braking solution that offers reliability combined with low wear. The different types of industrial trucks can be typically classified into three groups; non-lifting devices such as manual and electric pallet trucks which are suitable for the horizontal transport of pallets, but have no lifting function. Lifting devices such as forklifts which are mainly used for the storing and retrieving goods in pallet racking systems (stackers, counterbalance trucks, reach trucks, three-way forklifts, etc.), and order pickers which are tools that are used to collect orders using order picking racks.
