Exciting Expansion in India
Stephenson Gobin (SG) has recently celebrated the opening of a new manufacturing plant in the Indian state of Karnataka, near Bangalore.
This facility will specialise in the production of electromagnetic brakes, clutches, and fire door safety products, further expanding SG’s reach into the rapidly growing automation sector.
Located in Attibele, the new factory will significantly increase the company’s production capacity to meet rising demand from customers across the world.
The newly inaugurated 20,000 sq ft facility is equipped with state-of-the-art manufacturing machinery and advanced production processes, mirroring those used at the company’s flagship site in the UK. The site includes purpose-built assembly lines for specific product ranges, a dedicated laser marking cell, an inspection clean room, and modern office space with a fully equipped conference room.
These investment decisions demonstrate SG’s commitment to delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer service—wherever their customers are based.
To mark the opening, a traditional Puja blessing ceremony was held, seeking prosperity and good fortune for both the factory and its employees as they embark on this exciting new chapter. The company is respectful of local customs and is committed to building a strong, positive presence within the community.
The expansion marks a key milestone in SG’s global growth strategy. By establishing a larger manufacturing base, SG is positioning itself to build a more resilient, agile, and sustainable supply chain—both in the Asia-Pacific region and worldwide. This will empower SG to respond more effectively to customer needs and continue driving innovation in the automation and safety products space.
Andy Collinson, CEO of Stephenson Gobin, commented: “We’re excited about building our presence in India, optimising our manufacturing on a global scale, and enhancing the future of industrial operations in this growing market.”
